Savouring Sweet Moments: My Delightful Visit to La Dolce Vita Gelato in Oakville
On a scorching labour day long weekend, my online search for vegan ice cream options led me to La Dolce Vita gelato, Oakville.
We weren’t the only ones looking for a cool treat and a break from the relentless heat — the line up was way out the door! We knew we must have stumbled upon a gem of a shop. Although it was busy, they had a good system in place to keep the crowds moving smoothly.
Different Sizes and Options
At the cash register, you choose the size of gelato and whether you want a cone or a cup. They have 4 sizes: bambino (1 scoop), small (2 scoops), medium (3 scoops) and large (4 scoops). You can upgrade your cone to a waffle cone or a gluten free cone. They also have toppings and sauces.
Next step is choosing your flavour from the huge selection. I was very excited when I asked which flavours were vegan and was told that they all were!!
The best thing about Fall is pumpkin pie so I was delighted when I saw they had Pumpkin Spice gelato. I ordered the bambino size in a cup.
My daughter got a scoop of apple pie and a scoop of Cookie Monster!
Despite the busyness, we managed to secure four stools by the window. There, with our gelato in hand, we settled in for a sweet treat and some people-watching!

La Dolce Vita opened in 2014 in downtown Oakville. The owners (Chris and Mia) spend a lot of time creating new flavours and they have over 100 gelato flavours that rotate throughout the seasons. They have won several awards for the best ice cream/gelato and milkshakes in Oakville!
