Lunch at Community

The Atmosphere

Upon stepping into Community restaurant, I immediately felt an aesthetic and warm atmosphere. The lighting was soft and not at all overpowering. The careful attention to detail was evident in the tasteful artwork adorning the walls.

The Menu

What I appreciate about Community restaurant is its commitment to a 100% plant-based menu, made from scratch daily. The menu has many options including bowls, sandwiches and pizza. Many of the items can be made gluten-free as well.

Whether you're a seasoned vegan or someone curious about plant-based cuisine, the menu at Community restaurant has something for everyone. It challenges preconceived notions about vegan food, proving that plant-based dining can be not only wholesome but delicious as well.

Dining Experience

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Community restaurant starting with this beautiful and delicious Hibiscus Lemonade.

Next up was the ‘Avocado Shared Plate’: Guacamole, organic microgreens, sprouts, seed medley, sesame seeds, pomegranate, basil sunflower pesto, Cold Pressed olive oil and housemade seasoned chips. This appetizer is gluten and soy free.

Avocado Shared Plate

For the main meal, my daughter had the Penne Mac & Cheese:    Housemade creamy queso cheese, cashew mozza, charred jalapeno, tempeh bacon, garlic confit, smoked paprika, toasted bread crumbs, and sunflower seed parmesan.

I had the Mediterranean Pizza made with 'OO' Italian Pizza flour. The toppings were artichoke, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, sundried tomato, onions, garlic confit, marinara, cold pressed olive oil, Community cashew mozzarella, sunflower seed parmesan, Maldon Sea Salt, and organic arugula. The pizza is soy free and there is a gluten free option.

Service and Staff

When we arrived we were greeted immediately and seated right away. There was only 1 other occupied table, however several other customers came while we were eating. Our server was friendly and attentive and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The pizza did take extra time to cook but we were told that upon ordering.

Community

At Community, they actively support their local communities by creating partnerships and making meaningful contributions to nearby food banks and charities that require assistance. They firmly believe in the strength of community and the positive impact of collaborative efforts.

Price and Value

In comparison to other plant-based restaurants, the prices were quite competitive. I found that the portion sizes were generous (we brought leftovers home), and the flavours were tasty! While it was slightly pricier than your average fast-food option, the experience was worth it. When you consider the wholesome, plant-based ingredients and the attention to detail, it's evident that the prices reflect the dedication to providing a top-tier dining experience.
