Papa Joe's Pizzeria, Kitchener-Waterloo

On Friday evening we tried Papa Joe's pizza, for the first time!

Papa Joe's Vegan Pizza

We ordered 4 small vegan pizzas ($11.95 each) and added our own toppings which were an additional $1 each. I ordered green peppers, green olives, sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms. Instead of the typical mozzarella pizza cheese, they used vegan cheese. I asked for light cheese because I sometimes find vegan cheese is too sticky. Luckily, this cheese wasn't sticky at all but overall I found the pizza very creamy and unlike anything I've ever had.

The toppings were fresh and there were plenty on each pizza. On the website, they claim to have the best thin crust pizza in Kitchener-Waterloo. I thought the crust was great but it wasn't as thin or crispy as the crust at Score Pizza.

When I picked up the pizzas, I wondered if I should have gotten the next pizza size up, but the small turned out to be very filling and was more than enough for me.

There was a special offer on that day so we got 4 cans of pop and 4 dipping sauces with our pizzas. The sauces weren't vegan.

You can check out Papa Joe's Pizzeria menu here. I found the website a bit difficult to navigate and you couldn't order online. However, the person I spoke to on the phone was friendly and ordering was easy.

They didn't deliver to our neighbourhood so we picked up the pizza. Getting there was easy but getting home took longer because we hit a lot of dinner time traffic.

So was this the best pizza in KW? I think it was really good pizza.

Would we order it again? Probably.
