The Ultimate Guide to Vegan Pizza in Waterloo Region (2025 Update)
Being vegan shouldn't mean sacrificing your favourite foods, and pizza is definitely on that list! Waterloo Region has some excellent options for vegans craving a good pizza. Whether you're looking for a wood-fired masterpiece or a quick and easy delivery, I've got you covered.
Here are some of our favourite places to find vegan pizza in the area:
City Pizza: Delicious Vegan Delivery in Waterloo
We recently decided to order pizza from City Pizza (University location) after trying it at my cousin’s house. They have a ‘vegan pizza’ section on the online menu, but it’s basically a ‘build your own’ option. We all like different toppings so we usually get our own pizzas. We clicked on ‘Delivery Specials’ and got the Two Pizzas with 6 Combined Toppings. For 2 mediums it’s $21.99. So we ordered 2 of those (4 pizzas in total).
I got regular crust with pineapple, green olives, mushrooms and of course vegan cheese. The great thing about City Pizza is they don’t charge extra for their vegan cheese! For 4 pizzas, potato wedges, tip, and delivery charge ($3.99) it cost us $60.90. I only ate 3 slices so I had extra for the next day.
The crust was good, and the toppings were fresh and flavourful. The vegan cheese melted nicely and had a good texture. Overall, I was really impressed with the vegan pizza at City Pizza. It's definitely a great option for vegans in Waterloo. I'd highly recommend giving them a try!

Score Pizza: Unlimited Toppings for Your Vegan Masterpiece
Score Pizza — Individual sized pizzas so everyone can order what they want and don’t have to pick off what they don’t like! Best part…unlimited toppings for 1 price, so you can load up on all those veggies! The pizzas are stone fired and they use fresh, quality ingredients. When you ‘build your own pizza’ you can choose from different sauces. I always get the traditional red sauce but my husband likes a little spice so he goes for the spicy red sauce!
Those Pizza Guys: Wood-Fired Vegan Pizza Creations
Those Pizza Guys — lots of vegetarian options but you can make any pizza vegan by substituting vegan cheese (for an extra $1). No online ordering but you can call (they are very friendly) and place your order over the phone. Their pizzas are wood fired and are individually sized (10 inches). They have a basic menu on their website but check their instagram @thosepizzaguys for weekly feature pizzas.
Pizza Nova: Convenient Plant-Based Options
Pizza Nova — they have a menu section called ‘Plant-based Pepperoni’. There are many options but they all have regular cheese so when you order make sure to click ‘modify’ and choose dairy-free cheese. I ordered my pizza with whole-wheat dough and I didn’t love it. I prefer the regular dough.
Wineology: A Refined Vegan Pizza Experience
Wineology — Great place for wine and cheese but very limited vegan menu! In fact, the only thing on their menu for us vegans, is pizza! I ordered the ‘make your own pizza’, with vegan cheese. They use Daiya cheeze, which is quite common in restaurants. I find it a bit too sticky and should have ordered light cheese. You get to choose 4 toppings for $19. The crust is thin and crispy (which I liked) and I thought they used the right amount of toppings!
Panago Pizza: Perfect for Sharing (and Vegan Cheese Bread!)
Panago Pizza — We usually order from here when the kids have friends over. They have personal sized pizzas, as well as small, medium and large. Panago has a separate section with plant-based pizzas and they all have dairy-free Daiya cheeze. So no need to modify! Of course if you don’t like any of the pre-set options you can ‘create your own’. We usually order the Plant-based Cheezy Bread as well! Our non-vegan guests have said they can’t even tell the difference.
Papa Joe's Pizzeria: Creamy Vegan Cheese
Papa Joe’s Pizzeria — We’ve only ordered from here once and we enjoyed it. The small sized pizza is more than enough for 1 person. It’s ‘create your own’ for the vegan option and you pay extra for each topping. The vegan cheese is very creamy and I didn’t find it sticky at all. They don’t have online ordering and they didn’t deliver to our neighbourhood but you can call and check if you are in their delivery area. Otherwise pick-up was fairly easy for us.
